Kuwait’s Emir Sheikh Sabah orders payment of all prisoners’ debts

DUBAI: Kuwait’s Emir Sheikh Sabah Al-Sabah has ordered the debts of prisoners in the country be paid off on Sunday, Kuwaiti state news agency KUNA reported.
The emir received widespread praise for the act from various ministers.
The order – which sees both Kuwaiti nationals and expats freed of their debts — came as part of the celebrations of Kuwait’s 57th National Day and the 27th anniversary of Liberation from Iraq.
