JEDDAH: Al Zain jewelry boutique opened its second store in Jeddah at Red Sea Mall on Tuesday night.
Al Zain, a Bahraini family, has been handcrafting jewelry since 1930.
Theo Swaft, Al Zain’s CEO, told Arab News: “It’s very exciting to branch out here at Red Sea Mall because we’re catering to mall consumers, and those living around the mall area. Our higher-end pieces can be found in our second branch in Assila Tower, where we have luxury wedding sets, as opposed to here where we’re catering for daily consumers; somebody who wants to wear something fashionable but doesn’t wish to spend too much.”
The pieces were handmade in their Bahrain factories, the CEO said.
“We are known for quality,” Swaft said. “This is the third generation for handmade products. We bring in our own designs, catering to Middle East customers. We do our own quality control, that way nothing leaves our factories unless it a 100 percent checked. We also do our own sourcing of raw material and precious stones. The market now is full of synthetic stones but we only deal in original precious stones.
Ameera Al-Amoudi, a PR agent, told Arab News: “This is a great move to support GCC production, and it’s a step in the right direction as now GCC countries have come together to promote local business and brands and to introduce them to the rest of the world.”
