STC joins Badir Program to support Saudi tech startups

King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST), represented by the Badir Program for Technology Incubators, has signed an agreement with Saudi Telecom Company (STC), represented by its business unit. Under the agreement, KACST will offer communications and IT solutions to newly established startups incubated by Badir with the aim to facilitate their business and reduce their operating costs.
STC will also offer competitive prices to Saudi entrepreneurs on a selection of telecom services, such as fixed-line and Internet services (Jood), prepaid QuickNet packages, Jawal and Jawal net packages, and direct connection packages.
Nawaf Al-Sahhaf, chief executive of the Badir Program for Technology Incubators, and Anef Ahmed A. Abanomi, vice president of enterprise accounts at STC, signed the agreement.
Al-Sahhaf said: “The signing of the agreement is a continuation of the efforts made by the Badir program in order to create strategic partnerships with the private sector and other competent authorities in developing an entrepreneurial environment in the Kingdom and providing the necessary support for technical projects in order for them to grow, develop and sustain.”
Abanomi said the agreement with the Badir program is part of STC’s strategy of supporting entrepreneurship.
“The company is keen to do more in order to support and empower young Saudi entrepreneurs, as well as to participate in initiatives that contribute in reducing operating costs for startups,” he added.
