DUBAI: Kim Kardashian West has lashed out at actress Lindsay Lohan’s supposed “confusing” accent, which the latter says she picked up while learning new languages, including Arabic.
On Monday, Kardashian West shared a photograph of her newest hairstyle — blonde cornrows, which she called “Bo Derek braids.” She quickly received backlash on Instagram from many commenters who accused her of cultural appropriation.
Meanwhile, Lohan, who is reported to be designing her own island in Dubai, commented on a photo of Kardashian West’s new look, saying: “I’m confused.”
The reality star and beauty mogul clapped back: “You know what’s confusing… Your sudden foreign accent.”
Kardashian West is referring to the much-reported accent Lohan adopted in late 2016.
“It’s a mixture of most of the languages I can understand or am trying to learn,” she told the Daily Mail at the time. “I’ve been learning different languages since I was a child. I’m fluent in English and French can understand Russian and am learning Turkish, Italian and Arabic.”
