RIYADH: Saudi Arabia and Switzerland plan to activate their bilateral trade and investment program according to Vision 2030.
Council of Saudi Chambers (CSC) Secretary-General Dr. Saud Al-Mishari, Ambassador of Switzerland Heinrich Schellenberg, and Daniel Küng, CEO of Switzerland Global Enterprise, chalked out a plan to boost bilateral trade and investments between the two countries at a meeting on Tuesday at CSC headquarters.
Al-Mishari told visiting delegates that economic relations between the two countries were key. He said he looked forward to the enhanced role that the Saudi and Swiss business sectors would play in increasing the volume of trade through cooperation in vital sectors in accordance with Vision 2030.
The meeting discussed the importance of the role of the Joint Business Council through intensifying visits of trade delegations between the two nations and promoting investments.
The secretary-general outlined the developmental stages of the Kingdom under Vision 2030, which entails a chain of ambitious programs.
The Swiss ambassador stressed his government’s desire to strengthen trade relations with the Kingdom in view of the importance of the Saudi market, the largest in the Middle East. He called for strengthening activities aimed at developing trade and investment cooperation, and activating the Joint Business Council through exchange of visits between the two countries.
Describing Vision 2030 as an ambitious project to diversify the economy of the country, the envoy said that his nation could partner with the Kingdom in the implementation of several programs under the vision.
