Al-Khozama International School hosted The BEST CUP Under 14 Football Championship to tap and promote talent at an early age through the comradeship among the CBSE schools in the Kingdom with a greater goal of raising standard of sports and games in the schools and inculcating sportsmanship and respect for values among students.
It commenced on Dec. 15 and the finals were held on Dec. 18 at the Euro village. Seven International schools took part in the big event including the host, Al-Khozama Dammam. New Al-Wurood International School, Jeddah, Al-Yasmin International School, Riyadh, New Middle East School, Riyadh; Modern International School, Riyadh; Yara International School, Riyadh; Dunes International School, Dammam were the teams those participated other than AKIS.
Each school displayed an astounding performance. The final match played between New Middle East International School, Riyadh and the New Al-Wurood, Jeddah was a stellar display of soccer skills and the better team of the session, New Al-Wurood International School Jeddah won the match by 3-1 and won the BEST CUP.
Master Shuhaib from New Al-Wurood was crowned the best player of the tournament. He was awarded a round-trip air ticket by Oman Air to his native place. Master Waseem was acclaimed the promising and emerging player of the tournament. Master Adnan and Master Muhammed Abdullah (AKIS) secured the awards for the best goal keeper and the best goal respectively. The best defender was Master Kamil from New Middle East International School, Riyadh whereas Master Arib (Yara International School, Riyadh) was acclaimed for bagging more number of goals.
This is one of the most prestigious programs conducted by B.E.S.T (Bridgeway Educational Systems and Training Services Limited) Group to nurture the co-curricular skills of students.
Apart from the classroom learning, sports and games play an inevitable role in the physical and intellectual growth of children.
