Darah releases photos of Saudi solidarity with Palestinians

RIYADH: The King Abdul Aziz Research and Archive Center (Darah) on Saturday began to release a group of historic photos of the Saudi position on the Palestinian cause on its Twitter account.

The photos reflect different historic stances of the Kingdom during the past decades starting from the era of the founder late King Abdul Aziz down to the era of King Salman.

Tweets from diverse cultural and scientific backgrounds from inside and outside the Kingdom will be accessible to find historic and documented data through historic photos, official documents and videos in this regard from the film “Al-Shahama Appeal … the Saudi Army in Palestine 1367H (1948),” which was produced by Darah.

Among the rare photos to be released by Darah, published by Um Al-Qura on 6/8/1367, is a photo of late King Abdul Aziz as he inspects Saudi battalions (fighters) for saving Palestine, in the presence of his Crown Prince Saud bin Abdul Aziz.

Another photo, published in Um Al-Qura on Shawwal 22, 1367H, shows Saudi Defense Minister Prince Mansour bin Abdul Aziz addressing the Saudi regular jihad group in Palestine, the list of Saudi martyrs in the 1948 Palestine war and a photo of a letter from the General Command of the Palestine Forces condoling nine Saudi martyrs in Al-Mazrah Battle on 16/2/1948.
