MOSCOW: Russia announced that the visit of King Salman to Russia last month has begun to bear fruit, after the announcement yesterday of signing a number of agreements between the two countries, according to which Russia would supply the Kingdom with the advanced S-400 missile system.

Al-Hayat daily quoted the TV channel Russia Today as saying that the two sides signed the first military and technical cooperation agreement. Dmitry Evgenyevich Shugaev, director of the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation stated after signing the agreement with Riyadh that “the two sides signed agreements which have become known in the fields of air defense and in other fields, and these agreements were reached during the recent visit of the Saudi King to Russia, and they have entered into force today.”

The assistant of the Russian president for military cooperation had recently revealed that Riyadh and Moscow would sign S-400 missile system contracts soon.
