JEDDAH: Upon the directives of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, a medical-surgical team will perform separation surgery on Sudanese Siamese twins (Jana and Juad) at the King Abdullah Specialist Hospital for Children in King Abdul Aziz Medical City in Riyadh on Sunday.
Abdullah Al-Rabeeah, supervisor general of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSRelief), said that this gesture from the crown prince comes as an extension of the great humanitarian efforts being undertaken by the Kingdom.
He pointed out that the twins are 13-month-old females who are joined at the chest and abdomen. The success rate for the surgery is estimated to be 60 percent.
