YANBU: Prince Abdullah bin Saud bin Mohammed, Chairman of the Saudi Federation of Marine Sports, announced the establishment of the first marine sports club in Yanbu.
He also announced the allocation of monthly bonuses and salaries to those who participate in foreign sports competitions and the possibility of being released from performing their jobs to focus on these championships.
This came during a press conference held on Saturday at Al-Masamk Palace in Yanbu, in the presence of the Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage (SCTH) director in Yanbu, Samer Al-Enini, and the head of Yanbu municipality, Fahad Al-Mishaan.
The prince expressed his confidence in the success of the first marine sports club in Yanbu for its massive tourist elements that enable the city to host major sports competitions.
He pointed out that the strategy of the federation is accelerating the establishment of similar sports clubs in the various areas of the Kingdom’s coastal areas of Tabuk, Makkah, Jazan and two clubs in the eastern province and in Dumat Al-Jundal.
He stressed the importance of starting the implementation of the work assigned to clubs, which should be achieved before the establishment of the club and to complete the work within a year as maximum.
Regarding inquiries about the diving and the challenges confront it, the president of the Saudi Federation of Marine Sports said: “The issue is still under discussion and it took three years because it is divided into three types and is included under recreational and tourism diving, as well as military diving.”
He also praised the great efforts exerted by the chairman of the General Authority for Sport, Turki bin Abdulmohsen Al-Sheikh, which contributed to make great changes in the level of sport in the Kingdom.
Al-Mishaan stressed the ability of Yanbu province to make the success of the first club for marine sports a gateway to the start of many championships.
Al-Enini expressed his pleasure that the governorate has the first marine sports club.
“The club will play a major role in developing youth talents in marine sports, activating sports competitions during the year, and making the tourism industry a success,” Al-Enini said.
