Contemporary Art Platform (CAP) is hosting a photography exhibition series to showcase the work of Kuwaiti photographers.
“Wild Moments: Through the Lens of Kuwaiti Photographers” will feature the works of Kuwaiti photographers Mohammed Al-Kandari, Majed Al-Zaabi, Mohammed Khorshed and Maitham Al-Misry. It will be their first exhibition using fine art limited edition prints in Kuwait. The exhibition will open at 11 a.m. on Saturday and continue until Nov. 28.
According to CAP, the work of Kuwaiti photographers is brought together “to celebrate Mother Nature and the mesmerizing creatures of her animal kingdom.”
This exhibition’s four photographers have collected several awards and received international recognition from world-renowned competitions and organizations, such as the National Geographic, Al-Thani International Photography Contest, American Photography Federation, Hamdan bin Rashed Contest, Maria Luisa Contest in Spain and Austria Photography Contest.
The organizers said the photographs featured in the exhibition have been selected due to their stunning technical quality, inspiring subjects and artistic direction. Each of the photographs elevates its animal subject either by abstracting its form or by highlighting its personality.
Contemporary Art Platform (CAP) is a non-profit private organization dedicated to developing and supporting the arts in Kuwait and throughout the region. CAP is one of the largest exhibition spaces in the region founded in 2011 by art collector Amer Huneidi. The gallery space has presented exhibitions of established and international artists, as well as emerging and local artists through collective, thematic shows mainly curated by Arab and international curators.
CAP hosts regular workshops in the Studio Space, where youth and children are invited to learn from local and visiting artists. Artist talks and panel discussions are presented in conjunction with exhibitions, exhibition tours are offered to school groups and film screenings are shown regularly. CAP’s library holds over 2,000 titles and is the largest public art book library in Kuwait.
