GE inaugurates DGA monitoring center in Kuwait

GE and the Ministry of Electricity and Water (MEW) have opened a dedicated dissolved gas analysis monitoring center in Sabhan Industrial Area, Kuwait. The center aims at deploying the company’s advanced digital industrial solutions to help partners achieve unprecedented levels of operational efficiency and productivity.
“The facility is another step in GE’s partnership with MEW to modernize and digitize Kuwait’s electrical network,” a press note said.
The turnkey service solution incorporates the retrofit of aging transformers with monitoring sensors as well as software installation and support from a GE service expert for customer support and data analysis. GE said this asset performance management solution is an example of its leading digital services and technology.
GE offers the latest in services solutions to manage the health condition of critical assets. From the newly inaugurated DGA monitoring center, MEW can visualize the state of their equipment in real-time. The data received will enable MEW to predict issues and challenges before they occur. This is expected to further strengthen reliability — both for the networks and for the communities MEW serves.
The opening of the dissolved gas analysis monitoring center was attended by: Oil Minister and Minister of Electricity & Water Essam Al-Marzouq; Mohammed Bouhshary, undersecretary, ministry of electricity; Jaseem Al-Noury, assistant undersecretary of transmission network; and Mohammed Mohaisen, president & CEO Grid Solutions MENAT at GE.
