Kashmir Premier League Trophy unveiled in Riyadh

RIYADH: The Kashmir Premier League (KPL) Trophy was unveiled in a grand ceremony last week at Swiss Royal International Hotel in Riyadh.
During the ceremony, jerseys of the teams were distributed.
The first season of this cricketing extravaganza is being organized by Non Resident Kashmiris (NRKs) in Saudi Arabia with the league matches to begin this Friday.
The captain of Anantnag Avengers Abha, Majid Bashir, started the proceedings of the ceremony with the recitation of verses from Holy Qur’an followed by the introductory speech by the KPL CEO Samiullah Najar.
Najar told the audience the challenges they faced to make the first-ever sporting extravaganza a reality for the Kashmiris in the Kingdom.
Najar also thanked title sponsors HalaYalla, KPL partners especially Rising Kashmir, team managers, players and followers of the league.
KPL Operations Manager Ishfaq Bhat gave a beautiful presentation about full story of the KPL journey in which support videos of Saudi Cricket Center (SCC) CEO Nadeem Nadwi and Kashmir’s international cricket star Parveez Rasool were displayed.
Ishfaq said KPL enjoys the support of technology partner Cricclubs, affiliated cricket board SCC, media partner Rising Kashmir, design partner Salman Shah and sports partner Java Sports.
HalaYalla founder Faheem Bakshi distributed jerseys to the team captains followed by the unveiling of the KPL Trophy.
KPL General Manager Sadat Bashir thanked the whole Kashmir community for showing support to their inaugural cricket tournament in Saudi Arabia.
KPL is aimed at providing a platform for Kashmiris to get together at one place and have fun.
