Malabar Gold & Diamonds receives Gemfield’s ‘Retail Jeweller India Award’

Malabar Gold & Diamonds, one of India’s top jewelry retailers, received “Retail Jeweller India Award” for its special contributions to the gem and jewelry industry. M.P. Ahammed, chairman of Malabar Group, received the prestigious Gemfield’s Retail Jeweller India Award from Praveen Shanker Pandai, president of Gem and Jewellery Export Council and Gyan Shyam Dholakia, managing director of Harikrishna Exports Pvt. Ltd. in presence of Shamlal Ahamed MP, managing director of international operations at Malabar Gold & Diamonds; Asher O., managing director for India operations at Gold & Diamonds and Abdul Salam KP, group executive director at Malabar Group at an event in Grand Hyatt, Mumbai recently. A panel selected from thousands of nominees from the industry for the coveted prize. Malabar Gold & Diamonds was also awarded the best television campaign award for the current year.
Retail Jeweller India Awards was established in 2005 by Soma Bhatta, editor and director of Retail Jeweller India magazine and Samit Bhatta, the magazine’s associate publisher, with the mission to take India’s $30 billion retail jewelry industry forward by creating a platform for recognizing the best work of the industry in fields of design, retail and marketing. The award is also known as India’s Oscars for the retail jewelry industry and the only business award specifically for retail jewellers in the country of 300,000 retail jewellers.
