JEDDAH: The murderer's identity of the head of the Committee for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice, also known as religious police, was revealed to be his 17-year-old son, police said.
Al-Qassim police spokesman Maj. Badr Al-Suhaibani said police were notified on July 23 of a fire in a house in the Experts Center. A police patrol went immediately to the location and extinguished the fire.
The body of the house owner was taken to hospital, where it appeared that the cause of death was being shot many times in the chest.
Accordingly, the Civil Defense investigation department transferred the case to the security authorities.
Al-Suhaibani said after careful investigation, it was discovered that the killer was the victim’s teenaged son.
The authorities found the weapon, detained the suspect and presented him to the public prosecution office, where he pleaded guilty and signed his admission statement.
