Pakistan International School recently held its annual award ceremony from junior to senior grade levels at the school auditorium.
Principal Adnan Nasir said: “All the awardees have gone through standard series of assessments, based on a set comprehensive evaluation criterion. Apart from an eminent track record of academic and non-academic achievements, we look for qualities of an active learner, such as independent and reflective thinking, initiative and creativity. We look for signs of a responsible citizen such as positive values, social spirit and commitment. We also look for attributes of a capable leader such as vision, confidence and collaborative skills.
“Regardless of their talents and interests, the selected ones have something in common – they are the role models for all students at PISJ-ES.”
The top three position holders from across all grade levels, the first position holder from each section and the subject toppers from the senior school were awarded with shields, trophies and medals respectively.
Among the first position holders from Year 1 through Year 8 were Fatima Abbas, Fatima Haris, Muhammad Abdullah, Zarwa Aftab, Emaan Amjad, Samia Amir, Haniya Nadeem, Nadeem Raja and Mashal Imran.
The award winners with 7 A* in the External Cambridge International Examination, May-June 2016 were Jannat Naveed, Radeya Waseem, Azzam bin Amir, Mashhood Ahmed Khan, Murad Aslam, Musaab bin Afroz, Saim Umer and Syeda Maheer Wasti. Among the high achievers with 8 A* were Ahmed Salman, Muhammad Usama Khokhar, Saifullah Khan, Hadiya Abdul Hameed and Shifa Asher. Ramin Qaisar received award for achieving 9 A* in the Cambridge examination.
Special awards including sports man and woman of the year, vice prefect, academic students of the year and student of the year awards were given to Irfan Minhas, Hayam Khan, Muhammad Zargham Abbasi, Wania Afroz, Rahma Muzaffar, Muhammad Haisam Atif and Maheen Khurram respectively.
Exclusive awards were given to the 11 Cambridge Outstanding Learners Award achievers.
Addressing the award winners, Nasir said: “Your success should be the beginning of unfolding the innumerable victories in all your future endeavours to contribute in the wellbeing of society, our country and the world at large. But do always bear in mind that the key to success in life is not to get ahead of other people, but to get ahead of ourselves, so keep reflecting back on your mistakes and make your tomorrow better than today.”
The ceremony concluded with the group photos of all award winners with the principal and their respective deputy heads.
