DUBAI: Broadcaster Katie Hopkins will leave her show on the UK’s LBC radio station “immediately,” the company has announced.
Hopkins is known for her far-right views and controversial statements and this week tweeted that there must be a “final solution” in dealing with terrorists following the Manchester attack.
The radio station has not confirmed that this is the reason behind her departure, however, the statement is being “reviewed and assessed by specialist officers” in the Metropolitan Police after angry social media users likened it to Hitler’s “final solution” designed to target the Jewish population during the second world war.
The radio station confirmed her departure in a tweet on Friday morning.
LBC and Katie Hopkins have agreed that Katie will leave LBC effective immediately.

Hopkins changed the term “final solution” to “true solution,” describing the earlier version as a “mis-type.”
After Hopkins made the comments, another LBC presenter, James O’Brien, called Hopkins “a monstrous self-publicist” who “employs the most vile of thoughts and language in a desperate attempt to stay relevant and get noticed.”
In 2015, Hopkins used the term "cockroaches" to describe migrants in an opinion editorial that was slammed at the time.
