Hikma Pharmaceuticals participates in World Economic Forum

Hikma Pharmaceuticals, a fast growing multinational pharmaceutical group, participated in the 2017 World Economic Forum (WEF) on Middle East and North Africa, held from May 19 to 21 at the King Hussein Bin Talal Convention Center, Dead Sea, Jordan.
The forum, organized in partnership with the King Abdullah II Fund for Development under the theme “Enabling a Generational Transformation,” convened over 1,000 government, business and civil society leaders from more than 50 countries.
During the forum, Mazen Darwazeh, Hikma executive vice chairman and CEO of MENA and emerging markets, contributed to the “New Vision for Humanitarian Impact” session, which addressed providing sustainable humanitarian assistance to meet growing needs. Darwazeh presented Hikma’s global perspective on creating partnerships between business and humanitarian sectors to present economic opportunities for displaced and host communities.
Hikma is a long-standing partner of the WEF. In its role as a health industry partner, it engages with global health and health care leaders to strategically and responsibly advance health and develop health care standards worldwide.
“Hikma is honored to take part in the ninth WEF held in Jordan under the direction of King Abdullah II and Queen Rania. The Kingdom’s repeated hosting highlights Jordan’s central role in driving development across the region,” said Darwazeh. “By participating in this and other forums worldwide, we strive to explore with policymakers and global players key critical socioeconomic and health care matters worldwide. This step is in line with Hikma Pharmaceuticals’ broader goal of boosting communities’ welfare by providing affordable quality medical products, elevating medical awareness, and improving access to medical care.”
