DUBAI: “Fast and the Furious” movie star Tyrese Gibson has brought his custom jeep assembly business to the UAE with an outlet in Sharjah.
Voltron Motors, owned by Gibson, signed a deal with Souq Al Haraj, a property of Sharjah Asset Management, according to a statement.
Arabian Business reported that the branch is the first outside the US.
Gibson shed light on why he chose the UAE, saying it was a vibrant environment.
“I have visited the UAE on many occasions. It offers attractive incentives and facilities to investors in all sectors. It is a vibrant and attractive environment. All the international automobile brands are present in this market.
“Our coming center in Souq Al Haraj will be the gateway for the mother company to the Middle East Region. We see the UAE as one of the major regional hubs that attract investors and entrepreneurs from across the world,” he said.
Ahmed Juma Al Musharrekh, director of Souq Al Haraj, said: “Opening the first branch of Voltron Motors in Souq Al Haraj is a valuable addition that will help attract more investors and customers from inside the country and abroad as Souq Al Haraj is one of the region’s major marketplaces for car enthusiasts.”
