DUBAI: A luxury underground nuclear bunker at a former US army base in Georgia has gone on the market for $17.5 million as international headlines focus on rising tensions between the US and North Korea.
The bunker was built almost 50 years ago by army corps and engineers and was renovated in 2012 to meet government standards.
Located across 32 acres of land, the bunker is spread over two levels and encompasses around 14,000 square feet.
Level one features communal areas and staff quarters while the second level boasts four decadent apartments.
Each apartment features a kitchen, dining area, two bedrooms, a living room and a bathroom.
The complex also features a weapons room, classroom and home theater.
According to the listing, the facility, is built to withstand a number of potential threats – including natural disasters and terror attacks.
It was also built to withstand a a 20 kiloton nuclear explosion, has three-feet-thick walls and decontamination showers.
According to the listing, the site also features a $100,000 CCTV system.
