The Pakistan International School (PIS) in Alkhobar has emerged as one of the major Pakistani institutions in the Gulf region with around 5,500 students, boys and girls.
The PIS, under the patronage of th e Pakistan Embassy, is making efforts to groom the personality and character of the little angels of the Pakistani community by enriching them with the most modern knowledge and religious education so that they could become useful citizens, true Muslims and loyal Pakistanis as dreamt by Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah.
The institution is also providing a number of opportunities to the students to give an outlet to their creative abilities and to instill in them the spirit of learning to enable them to meet the challenges of the 21st century. Excellent infrastructure, a team of dedicated professionals under the able leadership of Prof. Sarfraz Hussain (principal of the school) and Prof. Iftikhar Ahmad (vice principal), a challenging curriculum and a host of co-curricular and extra-curricular activities at the school, make every child a winner.
This school has been performing a fundamental function of imparting standard education and grooming the personalities of Pakistani students since its establishment in 1966 by a patriotic and visionary Pakistani, Malik Abbas Hussain. It would be pertinent to mention that the Embassy of Pakistan recently deputed Prof. Sarfraz Hussain and Prof. Iftikhar Ahmad as principal and vice principal respectively. The new administration took charge on March 1.
Prof. Ahmad has been associated with the school since 1994 as Pakistan studies lecturer. He has also served as controller of examinations for many years. While in Pakistan, he served as a lecturer in Pakistan studies at Army Burn Hall College, Abbottabad. Prof. Sarfraz Hussain joined the school in 1989 as a biology lecturer.
Prior to joining this school, he had served as a lecturer in Government College Gujranwala and Government Jinnah Islamia College, Sialkot. He is a recipient of many awards for excellence in teaching and administration. He was promoted to the position of vice principal of the school’s boys wing in 2008, a position that he held until the time of his appointment as principal of the school.
Students, parents and Pakistani community in the Eastern Province have strong conviction that the school’s new administration will provide genuine leadership and inspiration to bring excellence in teaching and learning.
