Pakistan school honors Qur’an recitation winners

JEDDAH: In pursuance of the mission to integrate academic excellence with the Qur’anic knowledge, recently, Pakistan International School Jeddah — English Section (PISJ-ES) held an annual Qur’an Recitation Competition in the school auditorium.
The young reciters from Y1 to Y8 participated in the competition and mesmerized the audience with their recitation with “Tajweed and Makharij.”
The program formally began with the recitation of the Holy Qur’an, followed by the singing of the national anthems of both Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. The finalists from each class recited the given verses.
School principal Adnan Nasir said: “The Holy Qur’an provides us the complete code of life. Its revelation on Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) determines that it has the guidance for the entire humanity regardless of religion, creed and caste until the end of this world.”
Emphasizing the significance of reading and understanding the Holy Qur’an, he said this competition doesn’t merely mean to categorize the students according to their skillful recitation, but the main aim is to make our students realize that the holy book must guide us not only during trials and tribulations but also during the times of bliss and blessings as well.
The program concluded with the distribution of trophies, gift hampers and certificates to the winners.
The victors for the first, second, third and consolation prizes from grade level 1 were Rayan Fahd, Shiza Khan, Muhammad Mustafa and Ammar Raja respectively.
From grade level 2, Ali Rehan and Hammad Asif received consolation prize, Uswa Kashif and Qazi Zaiqham secured third postion, the runners up were Ibrahim Muhammad and Mahnoor Haisham, whereas Fatima Khalid stood first.
From grade level 3, Rabiza Mubashir, Sheharbano, Ayesha Siddiqua and Wania Moeen received first, second, third and consolation positions respectively.
Ayesha Anwar from Y4 stood first, Muhammad Kashif acquired second position, whereas Rayan Ahmed and Maimoona Haisham bagged third and consolation prizes respectively.
In Y5, first, second, third and consolation prizes went to Muhammad, Aziz, Muhammad Huzaifa, Usama Rafiq and Muhammad Ahmed Monem correspondingly. From grade level 6, Umer Sultan, Basil Imran, Fatima Muhammad Maryam Ahsan and Razan Ahmed stood among the winners for the aforementioned positions respectively.
In grade level 7, Hadia Amir stood first, Samia Abdullah got the second position, Zakria Muhammad Asghar received third prize while Asmara Altaf acquired the first position.
