JCA-CIT Saudi Premier League T20 a big success

JEDDAH: A glittering prize distribution ceremony capped the CIT SPL T20 cricket tournament which successfully ended Friday last week.
The Jeddah Cricket Association (JCA) organized this popular event among expatriates from the subcontinent.
Chief guest Naser Gulaid, president and CEO of Canadian International Trading, the main sponsor of the event, handed over the champion trophy and cash award (SR 8,000) to MCH Premier captain Shahbaz Rasheed. Group MD Mohammed Esa Bundakji of Initial Service Group gave the runner-up cash award (SR4,000) to captain Abdul Wahid of Ace Travel and JCA Vice Chairman Humayun Farooq presented the third-place award (SR2,000) to captain Shahjahan Rajpoot of Hala International School.
Gulaid thanked JCA for giving CIT the opportunity to sponsor this high-profile event. He cited the excellent arrangements made for the final and the entire 16-week run of the SPL League while assuring JCA of CIT’s continued support in future.
Bundakji likewise committed Initial’s support of JCA activities.
The ceremony started with a recitation of the Holy Qur’an. A. A. Merchant welcomed the VIP guests led by Gulaid and Deepak Kalia of CIT and co-sponsors’ representatives namely Bundakji and Mohammed Afzal of Initial Services, Shamshad Khan (Ace Travel), Mir Mohammed Ali (Maui Jim Middle East), Syed Arif Hashmy (Hyderabad Sharks), Syed Mohammed Noorie (Arrow Food Distribution-Mizo Juices), Ismail Abdul Wahab Yamani (Khind Electronics), and Haitham El Bendary of Saudi Industrial Projects (Pepsi).
Also present at the ceremony were Jizan Cricket Association President Jan Mohammed, Abdul Jabbar of Telangana NRI Forum, JCA supporters Jotun, Kanoo and MCH, prominent members of the Indian and Pakistani communities, JCA’s Syed Humayun Farooq (vice chairman), Samir Nidal Khan (director), Mohammed Iqbal (CEO), Aijaz Khan (president), Hamid Afandi (vice president), Haroon Abdulla (executive secretary) and all executive committee members, member clubs and cricketers.
Merchant thanked the strong support of all SPL sponsors.
For his part, Iqbal welcomed the chief guests and all sponsors, congratulated the champion team MCH Premier and runner up Ace Travel for the exciting cricket in the final and wished participating teams better luck in future tournaments.
JCA presented plaques of appreciation to sponsors CIT, Initial Services, Ace Travel, Maui Jim, Hyderabad Sharks, Arrow Foods (Mizo Juices), Sipco (Pepsi), Khind Electronics, My Care Hala, Kanoo and Jotun for their support.

Champion: MCH Premier trophy plus cash award SR8,000 ($2,133) and individual medals,
Runner-up: Ace Travel SR4,000 plus medals
Third place: Hala School SR2,000
Most Disciplined Team: M B Stars SR1,000.

Player of SPL: Shahbaz Rasheed (MCH Premier) 641 Runs and 20 wickets SR500, Samsung LED TV 32” and sunglasses from Maui Jim.
Most Consistent Bowling Performance: Rashid Kumboh (Ace Travel) 27 wickets SR500, Samsung LED TV 32” and sunglasses from Maui Jim.
