Mobily has been honored by Prince Khalid Al-Faisal, governor of Makkah and adviser to King Salman, for being ranked among the top 100 brands in the Kingdom, third year in a row.
The honor was bestowed at a ceremony held by Asir Foundation for Press and Publication, in association with Al-Watan newspaper, to recognize the best 100 brands in Saudi Arabia.
Maziad N. Alharbi, chief technology officer of Mobily, received the shield on the company’s behalf.
The ceremony was attended officials and dignitaries from the business sector as well as economists.
Prince Bander bin Khalid Al-Faisal, chairman of Asir Foundation for Press and Publication, was also present.
The winning brands were selected based upon an extensive study conducted by the newspaper in collaboration with Ipsos, a major entity in market studies and research, based on specialized scientific methods, including advanced field surveys.
Mobily has emerged as a powerful brand that broke the monopoly that existed in the telecommunications market in the Kingdom. Mobily was able to work on developing healthy and fair competition in the sector over the past 10 years in Saudi Arabia, making the telecom sector one of the leading sectors in the region.
