Indian school in Riyadh to elect new managing committee

RIYADH: The election of a new managing committee of the International Indian School in Riyadh (IISR) will be held on Feb. 24 as the term of the serving committee has expired, IISR Principal S.M. Shaukat Perwez told Arab News.
The voters list was finalized on Sunday, and will be displayed on Wednesday.
According to eligibility criteria, candidates must be a parent for at least one year as per the school record, their child should not be in Class 11 or 12, they must be an Indian citizen who can devote sufficient time to the school’s welfare, they must hold a regular university degree, and must have a letter from their employer saying they have no objection to them holding the position and attending monthly or emergency meetings.
The candidates must produce a certificate, issued by the employer and attested by the Chamber of Commerce, stating that their basic monthly salary is not less than SR8,000 ($2,133). They must also produce a character certificate issued by the Indian Embassy in Riyadh.
The list of eligible candidates will be released on the school website and notice board on Wednesday.
The last date to withdraw a candidacy is Thursday, and the final list of candidates will be displayed on the school website and notice board on Feb. 19.
Polling will begin at 9 a.m. until 5 p.m., with a one-hour break at noon. The counting of votes will be done on the same day.
