Rosewood Jeddah festival offers a taste of Turkey

Rosewood Jeddah opened the second Turkish Food Festival, an unforgettable culinary event, on Wednesday at its Habsburg restaurant. The festival, which runs until Feb. 8, offers guests an opportunity to explore the unique Turkish taste, every evening from 7 p.m. to midnight.
The two-week festival was inaugurated by Turkish Consul General Fikret Ozer.
Rosewood Jeddah offers visitors a rich and memorable culinary journey, starting with a festive reception in an original Turkish ambiance, where guests will be able to take pictures with the festival’s mascot, a sultan and his chair located right at the entrance to welcome them. They will then embark on a wide range of popular and traditional Turkish delicacies, as they sample through a buffet comprising a selection of vegetarian dishes with many choices of hot and cold mezze appetizers, and Turkish meat dishes including the famous Iskander kebab; ending their tasting adventure with mouth-watering desserts including Turkish ice cream “Dondurma.” Bringing the experience to life, guests will enjoy live cooking stations, having the chance to watch their dishes being cooked fresh in front of them.
The team of chefs working on the Turkish food festival is led by Turkish chef Okan Aydemir, who is in Jeddah for the first time, specifically for the festival. He aims to provide visitors with all the popular dishes from his home country over the course of two weeks and exposing guests to a true Turkish dining experience right here in Jeddah.
“We impatiently await annual food festivals, as we demonstrate our expertise in offering Jeddah’s residents exclusive menus, especially after the success of the first Turkish Food Festival in 2016, where we were able to offer our visitors a glimpse of Turkey in the comfort of their own city,” said Sherif El Mansoury, director of sales & marketing.
