Cambridge International recently announced the Outstanding Learners’ Awards based on the students’ academic achievements in the June 2016 Cambridge Exam series.
The students of Pakistan International School Jeddah-English Section (PISJ-ES) have achieved remarkable positions in all categories declared by Cambridge.
The school occupies the leading position in the Western Province as three PISJ-ES students secured Top in World rankings in different subjects and altogether 11 positions in various categories.
To acknowledge the success of students and unresolved efforts of teachers, an awards ceremony was organized recently at the school auditorium.
Pakistan Consul General Shahryar Akbar Khan, who was the guest of honor, presented awards to PISJ-ES’ young achievers.
“Being in the spotlight and achieving excellent grades is a matter of great honor and pride. Students should never compromise on virtues like honesty, compassion, respect and tolerance, which are essential to become responsible citizens,” Khan said.
He emphasized that it should be every student’s endeavor to become a true Muslim and be respectful toward teachers and parents.
He added that with these qualities, the students who could not acquire A*, A or B, are still considered successful and likely to achieve more in the long run.
On this occasion, school Principal Adnan Nasir congratulated the award-winning students, and their teachers and parents.
He said: “The school’s outstanding result is manifestation of our students’ hard work, focused approach and teachers’ commitment, dedication, devotion and sincerity toward the cause of education.”
Nasir added: “PISJ-ES is the pride of the nation and reflects the strong image of Pakistan in the Kingdom. The school’s success is a matter of great pride and honor for the community and our country, Pakistan.”
The award winners in the Top in World category were Wafa Asher in accounting, Shaheer Ahmed in IGCSE-English as second language, and Haroon Ali Khan in IGCSE-math.
