Boeing ties up with KSCDR to help disabled

RIYADH: US giant Boeing, which has a full-fledged office in the Saudi capital, announced here Saturday that it has teamed up with the Riyadh-based King Salman Center for Disability Research (KSCDR), and is supporting a series of learning disability training courses.
This Boeing-KSCDR partnership comes within the framework of Boeing’s ongoing commitment to support educational initiatives in the Kingdom.
Ahmed Jazzar, president of Boeing in Saudi Arabia, made the announcement during a meeting with Prince Sultan bin Salman, chairman of the KSCDR board of trustees, who is also chief of the Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage (SCTNH). Jazzar was accompanied by a number of Boeing executives.
Speaking on the occasion, Prince Sultan expressed his gratitude to Boeing for its active partnership “to improve the lives of people with learning disabilities.” “At the King Salman Center, we pledge every day to complete our ambitious mission to improve the quality of life and living standards for people with special needs through our research activities,” added Prince Sultan.
Boeing is a key supporter of the learning disabilities program, one of the most important programs at the KSCDR. The program consists of five tests that assess disabled students’ reading skills, which goes a long way in building the capacity of the reading-disabled segment of society. On the other hand, Boeing’s funding will advance the development and deployment of diagnostic tools that are tailored to the needs of learning-disabled individuals in Saudi Arabia.
