The article, “Is Saudi Vision 2030 realistic?” by Mohammed Fahad Al-Harthi, (May 4) is very informative, and sheds light on the goals and ambitions of Saudi Arabia. Vision 2030 is indeed realistic and can achieve big goals. The best part of the plan is that it has everything that can ensure fast-pace economic development.
The government move to introduce the green card system in the Kingdom will be advantageous for expatriates as well as the government. It will provide security to expats and boost their business activities. Vision 2030 will also help abolish the Kafalah system, where expats are at the mercy of sponsors.
The plan will boost basic infrastructure and give an insight into developing the country’s economy without depending on oil. Saudi Arabia must explore untapped areas to get going with cultural, economic, fiscal and social development with great zeal. Presently, weak global oil prices have forced the oil-producing countries to find out new avenues to ensure economic stability.
Saudi Vision 2030 is a complete developmental path, and following it will surely result in huge overall progress.
