Located in the heart of Jeddah, on the Park Hyatt grounds lies Evania Ladies’ Spa, the only all inclusive female spa in Jeddah and the only one with an outdoor pool in the Kingdom. The concept of the spa is derived from the Latin tradition of Sanitas per Aqua, healing by water.
The idea of the spa is to serve females and offer services for the ultimate relaxing and rejuvenating experience. Upon entering the center, hotel guests, visitors and members are welcomed by friendly staff. Also welcoming them is a view of a small pool and wall waterfall fountain, the scent of fresh cut flowers wafting through the ceiling to floor length white drapes. The multi-national staff are very knowledgable about all treatments as well as information regarding memberships and the spa’s facilities. The interiors of the spa are centered around an Andalusian and Moroccan design, with white walls, large windows with lots of sunlight spilling through, and a nice quaint ambiance to give a relaxing atmosphere and the exterior is designed in the same manner. The grounds are all covered with palm trees and rose bushes breaking the heat of the sun with the right amount of shade.
Evania spa holds the region’s first hydrotherapy treatment, a heated mineralized water pool located on the second floor. The thalassotherapy pool’s benefits are varied. Rich in beneficial minerals, it provides restorative and curative values and promotes healthy skin, relieves pain and helps in managing chronic health problems that affect physical and mental wellness. The pool itself has three nozzles with powerful water sprouts for specific areas of the back and neck area, made to decrease pain associated with back pain in general. The water temperatures are a heady 32-36 degrees and it’s best to stay no longer than 20 minutes.
The spa also holds a warm water outdoor pool and an indoor pool and jacuzzi as well, light snacks from the nearby female only staffed restaurant are available upon request. The outdoor pool area is a calm and quiet area with lounge chairs and plush love seats to relax and unwind. Dardasha is the only female-run restaurant in the city and the menu provides light and healthy dishes and salads with a nice list of fresh juices to quench the thirst. Dardasha also holds afternoon tea from Saturday to Wednesday between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m., you can enjoy afternoon tea inside or in the outside seating area onlooking the Red Sea.
The spa holds an abundance of facilities all for the purpose of relaxing and reenergizing the body due to stresses from everyday life. The treatments are endless, Evania provides three carefully crafted signature treatments; “ageless,” beautifying and hydrating; there’s “flawless” to detox and tone; and “effortless” to relax and renew. There are wraps, facials, massages, polishes, as well as manicure/pedicure, each of the signature treatments hold different types of massages, wraps, facials and polishes.
It might seem a bit difficult to decide which massage or facial to have, the staff are well equipped to help you with that decision according to some of the details provided upon making an appointment. In all cases, all products used are of the highest of quality as well as the freshest available. The mineral spirulina wrap, for example, uses fresh living algae which is the basis of the thalassotherapy treatment and rich in vitamins, minerals and proteins.
