Double delight for Dunk Spanish Academy

JEDDAH: Dunk Spanish Academy bagged a double when they lifted the Under-18 and Under-15 titles of the JSC – Jotun Young Soccer League Football Tournament, in front of a holiday crowd.
In the Under-18 category, Dunk Spanish Academy team continued their unbeaten run with a 2-0 win over International Indian School Jeddah (IISJ).
After a goalless first half, Omer Nahdi put his team ahead in the 17th minute after the change of ends. He was later named man-of-the-match. Abdulrahman made the issues safe five minutes before stipulated time.
IISJ tried to make a fight of it but found it difficult to break through the rival defense.
In the under-15 final, the Dunk Spanish Academy got the better of JSC 2-1. Both teams fought for control from the start. JSC goalkeeper and defense were at their best to fend off Dunk Spanish forward. Faisal scored a brace for the winners with a goal in each half.
The JSC had their opportunities in second stanza but failed to convert them into goals.
JSC’s Nabeel reduced the margin with a solo effort at the half hour after the change of ends.
JSC goalkeeper Nufais was the man-of-the-match for his brilliant performance.

Anand Kumar, Consul (Consular) India consulate Jeddah, was the chief guest. Other guests included, Ram Narayan Iyer, Faisal Karim, Abdul Salam, Fernando (Spanish Academy coach), Naif (Dunk Academy) Musa Salman, officials of various sports and cultural organizations in Jeddah.
