Saudis recalled the late King Abdullah’s concern for the people in general and Saudis in particular, and his unique contribution in making their lives peaceful and comfortable. They expressed their full faith in his successor, King Salman.
Omar Abdullah Nasseef, dean of the English language institute of King Abdulaziz University, said: “May Allah forgive and bless the soul of King Abdullah. He not only won the hearts of Saudis but Muslims all over the world. His great achievements in the form of development of the country and for the prosperity of Islam are unforgettable. The whole nation is with King Salman and we are fully confident that the transformation of the Kingdom will bring more development and progress. We hope to see a giant leap for King Abdullah’s project of interfaith dialogue for the peace and prosperity of the whole world.”
Bakri Matwaq Assas, director of Umm Al-Qura University, told Arab News that he was shocked and felt very miserable when he got the news. “King Abdullah not only did good things for the country and Saudi people but also helped everyone in need around the world,” he added.
He said King Abdullah developed the country in many areas; the administrative level of many state departments developed. He launched the dialogue project and always tried to bring Muslims and Arabs on one platform.
Assas added that the whole nation has full faith in King Salman and there is a general belief that he will continue the work of King Abdullah. Like his predecessor, King Salman is full of mercy and kindness. May Allah protect him, help him in surmounting all the hardships in a bid to keep our country safe and secure.”
Abdul Wahab Noorwali, adviser of the World Assembly of Muslim Youth (WAMY), said King Abdullah’s development works is unforgettable. He said King Abdullah was a great leader, a great man and a great visionary who promoted a number of universities and offered thousands of scholarships to Saudi students. He also helped labor and poor workers by giving them amnesty by fixing their problems forever.
“We are confident that King Salman will continue his predecessor’s policy and work. We are hopeful that under his guidance the Kingdom will witness more development, many new projects and prosperity,” he added.
Sobhi Batterjee, head of board of trustees of Batterjee Medical College, said King Abdullah is credited with a number of developments, including higher education for the Saudi youth, by opening universities both in government and private sectors to promote better education.
“King Salman also has a very clear and great image, we are very hopeful and confident that he will carry on with the great work of the development not only in education but in all other sectors. With the smooth transfer of power, the country will see more progress. King Salman has great experience as he was always by the side of the King Abdullah, and we have full confidence in his leadership,” he said.


Ali Mohamed Al-Khairi, representative of the Saudi Society of Ophthalmology in the Western Region, said the whole nation has faith and confidence that King Salman will follow the policy and wise leadership King Abdullah.
