Kashif, Azhar, Faruk, Abdullah dazzle in WPCA league

JEDDAH: Kashif Shafeeq, Azhar and Faruk dazzled with the bat while Abdullah impressed with his bowling during the 10th week matches of the Western Province Cricket Association Summer Tournaments, held here.
Shafeeq with his unbeaten 102 was instrumental in My Care Hala’s win over AOT, Azhar blasted an unbeaten 122 to help My Care Hala Green rout ATS by 8 wickets, Al Mazori XI’s Faruk cracked unbeaten 107 in his team’s 88-run win over Harsco Baroom while Abdullah grabbed 5 for 15 in the same match for the winners.
In the premier division, Hala Friends defeated Al-Ghamdi Cricket Stars by 7 wickets, Dopco Stars got the better of Pepsi Deccan Knights by 4 wickets while My Care Hala trounced AOT by 6 wickets.
In the Afternoon League, AOT thrashed Dopco Young Stars by 5 wickets, AMI Juffali beat Elaf by a similar margin, Hala International School eased past Choudhry XI by 67 runs and Lothers XI downed Thales by 36 runs.
In the Morning League, Crown Blue made short work of Mayco by 9 wickets, Al-Kabbani Cricket Group surprised Nesma Holding by 8 wickets, ALJ Toyota humbled Johnson Control by 78 runs and Hanifa Tigers edged past Mercedes by 2 wickets.
