Adventure and excitement awaits visitors at Riyadh Zoo which seeks to inspire wildlife exploration and connects people with animals and nature.
With the final exams over in schools now, a huge rush was seen at the zoo, which is a popular public amusement place in the Saudi capital for kids and families.
A number of families thronged Riyadh Zoo on Wednesday and Thursday with longer queues at the ticket window this time as compared to last week’s turnover of visitors.
Huge crowds were seen inside with families lining up to board the toy train to enjoy the ride as it goes around the entire premises offering a bird’s eye view of the major wildlife attractions of the zoo.
The families, numbering more than 250, were from all walks of life and included locals as well as expats. Some students were also seen with their cameras taking photos.
The parking areas were full of cars belonging to the zoo visitors.
Sharing the experience with Arab News, Iffat Aabroo, a first time visitor said: “I have heard from my relatives and friends about the richness of Riyadh Zoo in wildlife preservation, and now I have experienced the magic, adventure and excitement, and it was an inspiring wildlife exploration.”
She said the zoo authorities had taken care of cleanliness, ensuring that the zoo maintained environmental standards.
Another visitor Fatima, who made the trip with her family, was among those enjoying the mild afternoon weather.
She observed: “It was great fun to be here and probably one good thing to remember the Kingdom by when we return home for good.”
School students were of the view that they came just for fun and entertainment with family and friends.
“It is an amazing experience to stand in front of the cages and see the wild and pet animals,” they said.
