MUMBAI: A day after rumors of India’s legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar being killed started spreading online, it was now the turn of actress Asha Parekh.
Rumours of Parekh passing away spread like wild fire on micro-blogging website Twitter. Parekh, one of the country’s most influential and loved actresses of her time became the butt of rumor mills who targeted her.
Journalist Rajdeep Sardesai and former cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar had tweeted about Asha Parekh’s apparent ‘demise’ through their Twitter account. Sardesai wrote on his Twitter account saying “Deep apologies; now told my info on Ms Parekh passing away is wrong. Picked it up from a tweet. Apologies to all and esp to her.” Sanjay Manjrekar also apologized on his account and wrote “Sincerest apology to Ms Parekh..won’t trust one news source anymore...imp lesson learned.”
