American Garden reaps first Team of Week award

American Garden cashed in on the opportunity to claim its breakthrough Team of the Week victory during the eighth session in the OFBC Friday Morning League Season 2 at the Ice Land Bowling Center here.
With its opponent, Pairs & Spares, a no-show, American Garden proceeded to compile the highest total win points of 26 from an automatic 20 match points and 6 rank points for carding the third highest total pinfalls of 2,588.
At least for a week, American Garden’s story was a welcome break in what is increasingly a RTJ Transient show in the tournament.
D’ Cyclone and Mixed Shots were the two other teams to cross the 20 points mark in competition organized by Overseas Filipino Bowlers Club.
D’ Cyclone crushed D’ Luf’s Strikers 18-2 on total pinfalls of 2,657-2,569 and rank points of 7 and 4, while Mixed Shots collected 20 match points and 3 rank points for total pinfalls of 2,469 against the bye team.
And RTJ Transient House? It was held to 10-10 draw by TFSJ Pin Crusher which had the highest total pinfalls of 2,706 for top rank points of 8 in the match against the rampant league leaders.
This match also produced the top individual peformers of the day — men’s Bowler of the Week Jhun Ejanda and ladies Bowler of the Week Kristhea Mae Busico. Ejanda of TSFJ fired the high series of 631 while RTJ’s Busico scored 606.
Mar Lagan and Gino Vallejos were the big players at Garden with rounds of 571 and 535. Skipper Robert Stone had 493, Hyett Ann Achai made 476, Christine Stone added 108-118 and Lito Delos Reyes had 183.
Cyclone relied on a single set of five players for its total, led by Med Ramos with 560 followed by Bash Langa 541, Robert Arman Gamboa 536, Fatima Jintarat 518 and Robert de Guzman 502.
For Mixed Shots the leading scorers were Toto Lim 532, Vic Gonzales 506 and Carms Lim 499.
