PISES-Riyadh honors outstanding students

Pakistani Ambassador Muhammad Naeem Khan recently acknowledged the important role teachers play in shaping the future of students. The ambassador also praised the efforts of Pakistan International School English Section (PISES) Riyadh for helping students generate more than 90 percent results in the “O” and “A” Level examinations.
He was speaking at the annual commendation ceremony by PISES-Riyadh to reward students who achieved high results in the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) and ‘A’ Level examinations at the Pakistani Embassy recently.
“Teachers, parents and students must be on the same page for a successful educational process. Students should work hard and make the best use of their time as well as the resources available,” he said.
Khan congratulated the acting principal Muhammad Tanveer, coordinators and teachers on the positive results achieved in both IGCSE and A Level exams.
Khan discussed the role and importance of competent school management committees (SMCs) in Pakistani schools.
“SMCs should work for the greater interest of the institution with dedication and utmost impartiality,” adding, “We are working on forming a SMC for PISES with a hope to establish a team of competent and committed individuals,” he said.
Muhammad Tanveer presented the annual report of the school and a profile of all curricular and co-curricular activities held in PISES during the year.
Muhammad Raza Ali received distinction in IGCSE by securing first position in the Kingdom in the subject of English as a second language.
PISES students achieved well in sports and athletics, winning the ISSL Athletics Championship and attaining 2nd and 3rd positions under 16 and under 19 categories in cricket tournaments.
The school headmaster commended the efforts of the chemistry department for completing the “Go Green” project and especially thanked Sajida Emran and her team for their efforts.
He also thanked and appreciated the efforts of Amer Qazi, Fasial Aziz, Ambreen Shams, Rukhsana Jamal, Farah, Muhammad Naeem Akhtar, Abdur Rouf and Saima Noreen; and the all the administrative and supporting staff members who contributed in making the ceremony.
Around 98 students received prizes for their academic achievements.
Among the highest achievers in IGCSE were Usma Zahid and Zainab Rouf with 9 A* and Mariam Jameel, Sara Suleman, Kinza Mahmood, Razan Aziz and Sohaib Aslam with 8 A*.
Usama bin Faisal and Inzemam Tahir earned 4 A’s, while Raeem Naveed, Haseeb Hassan, Rabia Manzoor and Warda Khizer Usmani attained 3 A’s. Faisal Javid and Syed Farzan were prominent achievers in A2 with 4 A*, while Baseer Anwar, Hafsa Siddiqui, Hamza Hassan, Moaz Ahmad and Sabiha Ahmad Chohan got 3A*s.
Speaking to Arab News, the students thanked PISES for offering them quality education, teachers for their devotion and loyalty, and parents for their care and love, which allowed them to succeed.
