A Japanese team comprising international Japanese plastic artist, Hi Rocco Kaohara, artist Heromi Ana Yushi and photographer Nao Ango worked together to make the world’s largest painting featuring the Saudi Arabian flag.
The painting was made with the support and supervision of the Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities (SCTA) and the Ministry of Education. The event took place at Al-Ola governorate in Madinah region. The painting is expected to qualify for entry into the Guinness Book of World Records.
Kaohara expressed pleasure over visiting Saudi Arabia, particularly Al-Ola and Mada’in Saleh. “Saudi Arabia is rich with history and folklore. I have made several artistic works in various countries, but I found Saudi Arabia to be a beautiful country and decided to create a painting to reflect this,” said Kaohara.
She expressed her thanks to the ambassador of Saudi Arabia in Japan and the SCTA for their collaboration in executing the painting.
“The work has its own artistic and educational dimensions. It is an unprecedented piece of beauty that may enter Guinness Records considering the size of the painting, 20 meters from all sides, probably the largest piece of artwork in the world,” she said.
She said another piece of artwork will be taken up next year, which will feature about 20 cities of the Kingdom.
