The Southern Philippines Muslim and Non-Muslim Unity and Development Association International’s Riyadh chapter (SPMUDA) has offered assistance to the war-torn residents of Zamboanga in the wake of a standoff between the army and the rebels.
According to a SPMUDA source, volunteers donated relief goods to thousands of displaced residents.
“SPMUDA works with the Department of Social Welfare and Development to help the Zamboanga victims,” said Datu Camad M. Ali, founder of the organization.
It is not the first time that they have provided assistance.
The group has been involved in various activities related to the Filipino community.
“The Filipino community can always count on us,” a SPMUDA officer told Arab News.
SPMUDA International is a registered non-profit NGO (non-governmental organization) for peace, unity and development.
It was founded by Datu Camad M. Ali, the current president and CEO of SPMUDA.
It is an international organization with members from around the world. A licensed global organization recognized by the United Nations, it boasts 193 branches worldwide.
