Alinma Bank mentored by ITBR Chairman Bobby Ting took over the No. 1 spot in the team standings after notching a Team of the Week and Bowler of the Week double during the fourth session in the InterBank Tenpin Bowling League 2013 Conference at the InterContinental Hotel Bowling Center here.
Alinma demolished former champion Banque Saudi Fransi of Jun Bantug 370-30. Jojo de Silva inspired his team to victory with an impressive high series of 822 that gave him the Bowler of the Week plum.
Equally impressive were Willie Bondoc, Obet Mata and Gelo Train who rolled 770, 748 and 681 repspectively. Lito Tolentino tallied 584 in three games while captain Ting had 160.
It was the second Team of the Week victory for Alinma in the young tournament.
It was unlucky night for BSF as it could only muster 30 bonus points during the third game. Jerry Villanueva led BSF with a 790 while Joseph Adao and Ric Camara contributed 699 and 599. Dawood Sereno tallied 508 while captain Batug and Yusuf Fernandez had 392 and 333.
PNB Unified crushed SAIB 320-80. PNB’s top performer Mixi Lechuga was at his best form as he burned the lanes with 815, the second highest score of the week. He also became the first member of the Elite Bowler Club when he connected 8 strikes in a row in a 264 scratch score. He was assisted by Sonny Alviso, James Frizzle, Ronald Cruz and Tenz Taeza who contributed 751, 738, 691 and 685.
For Saudi Investment Bank, the leading point-makers were Julius Queypo (772), Mike Benito (727), captain Dong Calub (721) and Joey Salem (667). Ziraj Zakaria and Eddison Austria contributed 316 and 278.
In other matches, SAMA-Abana edged Saudi Hollandi Bank (290-260) while last week’s best Shabab SABB beat BSF-CBG 180-50.
SAMA-Abana continued its winning streak by beating past champion SHB 290-260. Team captain Teody Zulaybar was the top scorer in SAMA with 799 followed by Jun Macarandan (778), Clem Guelas (739) and Bernie Torres (732). Jun Bolocboloc and David Smart rolled 357 and 323.
Saudi Hollandi Bank’s five-man team managed to grab the second and fourth games to end the match in a draw. Veteran player Cholo Nieto took the center stage with an impressive 762 series, followed by Jil Hembra (756), Gerry Ayonon (747), Clem Salazar (737) and Arnel Bernabe (729).
SABB heavyweight and captain Ahmed Qarquosh shot 771. Guest player Sam Alinsod had 715 while Arnold Jezena, Fahad Al Heza and Luis Bonguit carded 681, 678 and 614.
Ricky Dominguez top-scored in BSF-CBG 735 followed by Abet Miñoza, Alfred Estrada, Guilber Masias and Dennis Buot who tallied 691, 681, 678 and 626.
The tournament is played Wednesday nights at the InterContinental Hotel Bowling Center in a double-round robin eliminations, a mid-positioning, semifinals and championship rounds and is sponsored by all participating banks. Only bonafide employees and contractual staff of local banks are allowed to participate in the games.
