The Annual Jeddah Summer Festival “Jeddah Ghair 34” kicked off with zeal at Al-Hamra beach on south Corniche Jeddah on Wednesday.
The summer festival with 100 different activities was inaugurated by Gov. of Makkah Prince Khaled Al-Faisal and Gov. of Jeddah Prince Mishaal bin Majed.
The festival is organized every year by Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI) and Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities (SCTA), with cooperation of different public and private companies.
Prince Mishaal thanked Prince Khaled Al-Faisal for his continuous support in organizing the festival.
Prince Mishaal congratulated the people of Jeddah for the amazing festival.
He said Jeddah is different from the other parts of the Kingdom as it receives a large number of international and local tourists all year round.
“Today is the start of another summer festival to enhance domestic tourism. We hope to see an impressive festival every year, and we hope that the people of Jeddah enjoy the festival and the beauty of the city,” he said.
Prince Khaled commended Jeddah governor for the colorful opening ceremony. He also lauded the role of JCCI for their efforts to make the event successful.
The event is expected to attract about 1.5 million visitors and generate an income of over SR 5 billion.
This year, the festival’s grand prize will be a residential villa, along with cars, cash prizes and other awards.
Various programs of the festival will be held at 15 different location across the city, including Arab Mall, Lacosta, Park Hyatt hotel, Ice land, Serafi Mega Mall, Andalus Mall, Durat Al Aroos, Al Salam Mall, Haifa Mall, Aziz Mall, University Plaza, JCCI premises, Juffali Hall, Red Sea Mall, Roshana Mall and Makkah Mall.
