Al-Saudi’s Mazhar Abbasi cracked the fastest ton in Saudi Arabia in any form of cricket during the first week of the six-over Moneygram cricket championship organized by the Western Province Cricket Association (WPCA).
Mazhar’s 127 was against QRCC and came off only 31 balls, which included 12 fours and 11 sixers in his team’s total of 146. QRCC tried to make a fight of it but managed 88 and lost by 58 runs.
In another matches on ground 4, AOC Youngsters 87 beat AMI Juffali’s, who scored 68 — to win by 19 runs; Hala Academy 77 for 2 eased past Contraco who totaled 49 — by 28 runs, Zultrack 66 for 1 lost to Mazco — 68 for no loss.
On Ground No.1, Natcom replied with only 30 runs to Crown Steel’s 60; the UCC and Johnson Control match was tied with 74 runs each; My Care Hala (MCH) scored 136 against HCA (White), who replied with 74 runs and lost by 62 runs.
On ground No.7, Jotun Paints 86 for 3 got the better of Jeddah Royals 60 for 4 and lost by 26 runs, PAK Makkah XI scored 70 in reply Kabbani managed 59 to lose by 11 runs, MCH (Green) 69 for 5 beat Hala Internation School, which scored 68 and by 1 run, Al Safri 103 for 3 beat Crown Blue, which put up 69, by 34 runs.
On Ground No. 8, Fuchs Al Hamrani made 43 for 5 lost to AOT Al Farooq 47 for 1, IDB posted 49 for 4 lost to Dopco Stars, who reached their target for the loss of 1 wicket, Fuchs Al Hamrani 72 runs beat MQ Group 75, Hala Gems piled up 108 for 1 against Al Mazroi, who responded with 80 and lost by 28 runs, Marine Services posted 71 for 1 against Stallions who replied with 58 for 4 and lost by 13 runs. APF blasted 112 for 2 against Al Mazroi who replied with 43 for 4 and lost by 69 runs.

Yanbu tilt takes off

In Yanbu, the Moneygram took off with 20 matches played on the opening day. Saudi XI scored 51 for 4 against Pak Crescent who replied with 52 for 3, G.T. Warriors batted to pile up 74 for 3 against Punjab XI, who responded with 56 for 1.
Kabbani XI stroked 79 for no loss against Health Club who were restricted to 36. Pak Green against Indoor Riders could get to 43. Indoor Riders was home with 49 for no loss.
Pak Green were all out for 33 against Health club who were home with 34 for 1. Jotun Paints batted first against Pak Crescent A to make 47 for 2. Crescent A in reply scored 49 for 1. Royal Commission stroked 43 for 4, Jotun Paints achieved their target and scored 47 for 2. Royal Commission posted 60 for 1 Pak Crescent A responded with 64 for 1. Yanbu Youth scored 66 for 1, Royal Commission achieved their target and put on board 67 for 3.
