Ever thought of what old passports of princes, ministers and a number of officials in the Kingdom look like? Now you can find out.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs Pavilion at the ongoing 28th Janadriyah National Festival for Heritage and Culture is displaying the oldest political passports of Saudi leaders.
The oldest passport in the collection belonged to King Faisal bin Abdulaziz.
It was issued on Sept. 5, 1926. A picture of a youthful King Faisal appears on the inside cover of the passport, which is also signed by him.
The exhibits also include the first political passport of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah, issued in 1957, and two old passports of the Saudi Foreign Minister, Prince Saud Al-Faisal issued in 1947 and 1960. The pavilion also showcases several historical documents and international treaties signed between the Kingdom and a number of countries since the era of King Abdulaziz, and a collection of ancient seals that were used in the Foreign Ministry.
Staff members at the pavilion present a brief overview for visitors about the most vital departments and divisions of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
