Ministry withdraws failed contracts

The Ministry of Transportion is withdrawing a number of failed projects from some contractors doing work for the ministry, due to their failure to complete the projects, Dr. Jbarah As Suraisari, minister of Transportation, said during a field tour from Madinah train station to Makkah train station.
“We seek to implement the orders of King Abdullah and Crown Prince Salman by having the projects completed in time and carried out with high quality,” the minister said during the two-day tour, which went through King Abdullah Economic City and Jeddah train station.
“Some projects are finished in time, others face challenges and hurdles, like land expropriation, or road services, and we have the cooperation of everybody,” he said.
“Sometimes we have problems dealing with contractors, since some of them have administrative difficulties and challenges, or have inadequate resources, so we find ourselves forced to withdraw the contracts from them,” he added.
