• BMW Group has hailed the recent unveiling of the first ever electric vehicle charging station in Dubai as a significant step towards a more sustainable future for the emirate. Last week, the Dubai Water and Electricity Authority (DEWA) debuted the first of 100 charging stations for zero-emission electric cars planned across the emirate by the end of 2015. The initiative was announced late last year as part of the "Smart Dubai" concept introduced by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, vice-president and prime minister of the UAE and ruler of Dubai. BMW Group was invited to showcase and present the BMW i3 cars at the inauguration.
• The GMC Sierra full-size light-duty pickup ranked highest in its segment in the 2015 J.D. Power Vehicle Dependability Study. The GMC brand gained six spots, moving up to No. 10 overall (in a tie). The 2015 study tracks 2012 model year vehicles in the third year of ownership. Both the Sierra 1500, Yukon and Terrain also achieved the highest score in their segments in the 2014 J.D. Power Vehicle Dependability Study. The 2015 Sierra Light Duty body style range includes regular cab and two four-door cabs – the double cab and crew cab, all offered with 2WD & 4WD. Models and trim levels — the standard model, SLE, SLT and Denali (regular cab offered only in standard and SLE trims).
