Geely Holding Group (GHG) was founded in 1986, and began to specialize in the automobile industry in 1997. Starting out, Geely’s main focus was on technological innovation and personnel training.
With total assets of more than $15.6 billion, Geely quickly became one of China’s top 500 companies for ten consecutive years, and is ranked in the top 10 automobile manufacturers.
In addition, it is recognized as the Innovative Enterprise of China and Complete Vehicle Export Base of China. The total operating revenue of Geely exceeds $25 billion. On July 2012, Geely was listed in Fortune Global 500 as the only private automobile enterprise from China, and ranked on Fortune 500 list at 477 in 2013.
Today, GHG includes Geely Auto and the Volvo Cars as well as one of the world’s largest manufacturers of transmissions Drivetrain Systems International (DSI) of Australia.
In 2006, GHG also acquired a near 20 percent stake in Manganese Bronze Holdings, the manufacturer of the famous London Black Taxis.

Geely owns 3 research centers in China, Sweden and Australia, and has 4 design centers in Barcelona, Gothenburg, California and Shanghai. While Volvo Cars has five manufacturing bases — in Sweden, Belgium, Malaysia and Chengdu, Shanghai in China.
Geely personnel number nearly 45,000 people, including 25,000 working at Volvo Cars and another 16,000 at Geely Auto.
Haji Husein Alireza (HHA) is the distributor of Geely automobiles in Saudi Arabia, having introduced the brand to the Saudi market in late 2011. Geely quickly established itself as one of the top selling passenger cars and SUV brands in Saudi Arabia while gaining the 8th position overall in sales in the Saudi market.
HHA is the oldest automobile distributor in the Kingdom and one of the largest. Its vast experience and capabilities ensured a smooth introduction of Geely into the Saudi market with first class support and customer service assured from day one.
Geely models begin with the small and economical LC Panda to the large EC8 sedan and SUV.
Geely plans to launch many new models in the Saudi market and has been thoroughly testing new vehicles and technologies in Saudi Arabia this year by importing test vehicles and driving them all over the Kingdom under all types of environmental conditions.
The success of Geely in Saudi Arabia has opened the door for other Chinese brands to also begin establishing a foothold in the Saudi market. We expect Chinese brands to very quickly win a major share of the Saudi market of at least 20 percent within the next five years.
