Lahore Lions lifts Shehriyar Mirza Memorial Cup

Lahore Lions lifted the Shehriyar Mirza Memorial Super League Cup in style beating Pak Shaheen by 6 wickets at RCA-4 ground. In Premier League-1 final, CKK aided by Najeeb Asghar’s brilliant 87 not out beat Amir Holidays by 7 wickets at RCA-3 ground. At RCA-1 ground in Premier League-2 final, Riyadh Warriors struggled to beat Saham CC by 13 runs.
Winning the toss and electing to bat, Pak Shaheen started badly and lost wickets at regular intervals and were bowled out for 160. Javed (38), Faisal (27) and Qadir (22) were the only batsman to withstand hostile bowling from the Lahore Lion bowlers. Mansoor was wrecker-in-chief bagging 3 wickets conceding 49 runs and was well supported by Salman Butt (2-41), M. Nawaz (2-14) and Jamshed (2-44). Chasing an easy target Lahore Lions helped by Sarfaraz (23), Omar Zafar (46) and Salman Butt (32) romped home in 25 over’s losing 4 wickets. Man of the Match: Mansoor.
At RCA-3 ground, Amir Holidays batting first against Champions Kricket Klub (CKK) scored 175 runs in their allotted over’s. Imran bowled beautifully for CKK and grabbed 4 wickets conceding 24 runs and was ably supported by Nadeem (2-19). Chasing a stiff target CKK started calmly with their batsman Najeeb Asghar in prime form and scored scintillating 87 not out with the help of ten hits to the fence and two over it. Iftikhar (36) and Nadeem (20 not out) was the other notable scorer’s in CKK’ total.

In Premier League-2 match at RCA-1ground, Riyadh Warriors overcame stiff resistance from Saham CC to lift the title. Batting first and helped by Man of the Match Shaik Premnawaz brilliant all round performance (67 runs and 2-19) Riyadh Warriors scored impressive 186 for 5 in their allotted over’s. Asif (29), Sameer (21) and Majid (21) were the other batsman who propelled Riyadh Warriors score. For Saham Majid (2-27) and Yasir (2-27) were the main wickets takers. Chasing the target Saham started badly losing both their openers in quick succession. One down batsman Nasir (66) and Tahir (24) steadied the innings.
After their fall of wickets Saham CC lost wickets at regular intervals and was restricted to 173 for 8. Shaik Premnawaz, Abdul Gaffoor and Abdul Rahim bagged 2 wickets each conceding 19, 30 and 15 runs respectively.
