All of us are shocked and saddened to know about the unfortunate and tragic fuel truck accident in Riyadh that killed several people and injured more than a hundred on the accident site and surrounding areas. The accident caused heavy destruction to human life and property. Thank God that it happened in early hours of the Thursday morning during Eid holidays.
Had it happened on a working day, it would have caused much more destruction as the bridge is always packed with hundreds of vehicles. However, it was some sort of relief for the affected people to see Health Minister Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah visiting the injured in hospitals and conveying the greetings and best wishes from Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah and Crown Prince Salman and wishing them fast recovery.
According to reports a number of rescue teams including Civil Defense, traffic police and ambulatory services and helicopters reached the site and dealt with the situation with necessary measures on time, which is laudable. — Zakaria Sultan, Riyadh
