The largest consumer electronics and home appliances event in the Middle East began yesterday with the start of the five-day extra mega sale.
In addition to thousands of special offers on leading brands, the event will witness the exclusive Saudi launch of the greatly anticipated new PlayStation 3 model.
The five-day sale sees big discounts on thousands of products across the company’s 29 stores.
This year’s sale has reductions on a huge variety of leading international brands, including Samsung, LG, Sony, Panasonic, Vestel and Candy.
Until Oct. 14, eXtra will offer the best value in the Kingdom for LCD, LED and Plasma, as well as models of Canon SLR cameras among many more products.
In 2011, the mega sale attracted over 1,200,000 visitors to the stores and website, more than seven times as many visitors as the GITEX Technology Week in Dubai, and an increase of 40 percent on the Mega Sale of 2010.
The 2011 Mega Sale also generated twice the amount of sales volumes of GITEX, making it the largest consumer electronics and home appliances event in the Middle East.
“For the last eight years, the eXtra Mega Sale has been marked in the calendars of everyone in the Kingdom with a passion for consumer electronics,” said Mohammad Galal, CEO, United Electronics Company (eXtra).
“This year’s sale is set to be the biggest and best yet, with some unbeatable offers on products like SLR cameras, flat screen TVs, smart phones, white goods and small appliances, and many other products in stock. We also have the honor this year of launching the fantastic new PS3 during the sale, which is sure to generate a huge amount of interest in the Kingdom. This year we are aiming to give back to the customer even more by slashing our prices to an unprecedented low and we hope they grace us with their usual visits,” said the CEO.
