NAQEL Express, one of the major logistics supply chain solutions providers in Saudi Arabia, received Good Distribution Practice (GDP) certificate as per European Union — 2013/C guidelines from SGS, an independent certification body.
NAQEL Express is said to be one of the few express transportation companies of Saudi Arabia to receive GDP certificate. It already has ISO 9001:2008.
GDP is an internationally recognized certificate that confirms assurance of management systems being in place to receive, store in temperature-controlled trailers, transportation and delivery of pharmaceutical products. It guarantees an ability to consistently meet customer and regulatory requirements, and addresses customer satisfaction through the effective application of the system.
ISO 9001:2008 and GDP together help NAQEL Express to apply best industry practices, and manage and review the processes enabling procedures to strengthen performance.
NAQEL Express CEO Mohammed Al-Bayati stated: “NAQEL Express takes pride in achieving GDP certification, which will help maintain competitive edge in the global market place. Both GDP & ISO 9001:2008 certifications are important recognitions of the commitment of our employees."
Al-Bayati said NAQEL focuses its services on providing logistics supply chain solutions to its customers with utmost satisfaction in quality and efficiency. A highly qualified, competent management team consisting of both Saudis and expatriates work toward providing complete customer satisfaction with their vast experiences in the logistics and transportation field.
In December 1993, Arabian Hala Company observed an opportunity to enter the door-to-door pickup and delivery service industry. It developed a fully computerized overnight express service, encompassing 20 major Saudi cities under Hala Express.
The operations of Hala Express started in June 1994 with a fleet of more than 150 trucks and vans. A joint-venture between Saudi Post and Arabian Hala Company was formed on Aug. 1, 2005, resulting in the formation of NAQEL.
